Muhof Farm Store
Hike: Saanenmöser – Schönried – Gstaad Panorama Trail
The panoramic trail from Saanenmöser to Gstaad is the perfect hike for hot summer days. A special highlight along the route is the Muhof farm store, a family-run organic farm that has been producing high-quality farm products in accordance with Bio-Knospe guidelines for over 30 years. Located right on the hiking trail, the sunny self-service farm store invites you to take a delightful break. In addition to cheese, jams, and other regional specialties, the homemade organic ice cream is the perfect way to cool off in the summer.
Personal tip: Try the apple-cinnamon flavor. The fruity freshness of the apple and the subtle hint of cinnamon create a surprisingly harmonious combination—almost like a slice of homemade apple pie, only in ice cream form.
Early Beck Saanen
Hike: Saanen - Rougement - Saanen
The circular hike from Saanen to Rougemont follows the Saane River, winding through idyllic countryside and past two of the region’s most beautiful villages. After the hike, it’s well worth stopping by Earlybeck Saanen. For over 100 years, Earlybeck has been synonymous with regional craftsmanship and quality. The homemade ice cream is made from fresh milk, cream, and butter sourced locally and is the perfect refreshment on hot summer days.
My personal recommendation: the strawberry sorbet. Its intense fruit flavor is instantly appealing. Fresh, light, and wonderfully summery, it’s the ideal reward after this hike.

Hike: Gstaad - Saanen (Saanen Uferweg)
The Saanen Riverside Trail from Gstaad to Saanen is a leisurely hike for hot summer days and, thanks to its obstacle-free path, is particularly well-suited for families. The flat gravel path runs along the Saane River and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape at every turn. For children, “Saanis Klangerlebnis” (Saanis Sound Experience) provides variety and playful discoveries with exciting sound stations along the way. Once you arrive in Gstaad, the Mango Restaurant & Bar offers a special treat. Here, you can enjoy Ruci ice cream, made from fresh milk from the Saanenland region and select regional ingredients. Inspired by the connection between Switzerland and India, the menu features both classic and exotic ice cream creations.
Personal tip: Try the Mocha Choco Chip flavor. It’s the perfect combination of a delicate coffee aroma and crunchy chocolate chips.
Beautiful sights, the sun on your face, and a delicious ice cream in your hand—that’s what summer tastes like in the Gstaad vacation region. Discover hikes that combine stunning landscapes with refreshing culinary delights, turning every outing into a special summer experience.
