Muhof-Hofladen

Our family business is located in Gstaad, in the beautiful Bernese Oberland. Since 1993 our company is certificated with the national organic label. In the early nineties the organic certificate was very rare in the Oberland during this time.

Our Simmental cows live in an animal-friendly attitude and are not expropriated from their horns. In summer, the animals graze on our organic alpine farming, where they can strengthen themselves with the aromatic alpine herbs. This gives our organic Alp-chees its unique taste. The cheese is made on open fire and bottled in wooden shapes, all handmade. From the age of one year, our cheese becomes naturally lactose-free due to its maturation, as the milk sugar turns into lactic acid.

Our self-service shop is located directly on the beautiful hiking trail from Schönried to Gstaad. Here you can buy the high quality organic products we manufacture. Throughout the year, we offer cheese of varying maturity, as well as apple juice, confiture, sausage and dried meat. Seasonally, the range is supplemented with farm-own fruits. In winter you can enjoy a hot, homemade punch with us and in the summer season, our homemade organic ice cream provides a delicious refreshment for young and old. Our farm shop is not only a sunny place of power, but thanks to our new playground also an attraction for children and young at heart.
