Our winter sports areas

An unforgettable time awaits guests in the magical winter world of the Gstaad holiday region. Our region stands for all-round winter enjoyment - nestled in a magnificent alpine world at an altitude of between 1000 and 3000 metres. There is first-class skiing fun to discover on wide pistes for sports enthusiasts, pleasure skiers and families. Winter and snowshoe hikers get their money's worth at over 18 mountain restaurants, as do sun-seekers. 30 toboggan runs and over 180 varied cross-country ski trails round off our winter offer. A true winter wonderland that has something for everyone!

Rinderberg – Saanersloch – Horneggli «ski arena»

The mountain railway that runs between the Horneggli in Schönried and the Rinderberg in Zweisimmen provides access to the largest skiing and hiking area in the Gstaad holiday region. It connects Schönried, Saanenmöser, Zweisimmen and St. Stephan, with over 105 km of ski slopes and three sledding runs in winter. Besides adrenaline thrills in the snow park, the area also offers numerous restaurants and ski bars.

Enjoying Eggli – La Videmanette

Between the peaks of Eggli and La Videmanette lies a charming boutique ski area that boasts excellent slopes in winter and superb dining options besides. The Eggli mountain restaurant and La Videmanette mountain restaurant spoil diners with delicious food in a beautiful setting. Skiers can also enjoy the region’s longest run, from La Videmanette to Rougemont. It’s a veritable paradise for foodies, while immersing diners in the beauty of the Gstaad mountains.

Wasserngrat: «The peak of enjoyment»

The Wasserngrat ski area offers first-class opportunities for skiers of all levels, including three different slopes. Two of these slopes are especially family-friendly, while the black Tiger Run is a demanding challenge for experienced skiers. Nature lovers can also enjoy a delightful snowshoe hike. The Wasserngrat is the perfect place to enjoy the magic of winter and have fun in the snow.

Glacier3000: «The high alps»

An incredible winter wonderland awaits at Glacier3000 in the Bernese Oberland from November to May. Perfectly groomed slopes and a stunning glacier landscape framed by majestic four-thousanders, including Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn, are simply waiting to be discovered. The picturesque snowy landscape offers winter fun galore, with skiing, winter hiking, cross-country skiing and ski touring in abundance.

Wispile: «The family mountain»

Wispile is the most charming local mountain in the Gstaad holiday region. In winter, you can look forward to spectacular views, superb slopes and a thrilling sled ride down to Gsteig – an amazing experience for all the family! Wispile promises unforgettable winter memories, plenty of adrenaline and lots of fun in the snow.

Sparenmoos

Sparenmoos above Zweisimmen offers a quiet winter landscape and a variety of opportunities for activities such as cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing and winter hiking. The breathtaking panoramic views and the silence of the snowy surroundings make it an enchanting winter paradise.

Lauenen: «cosy & charming»

The charming village of Lauenen offers an ideal starting point for fabulous nature experiences and cross-country skiing. The nearby nature reserve is of national importance and is a wonderful snow-covered area in winter. Beneath the snow cover lies an alpine moor, with fir trees poking up through the thick white blanket. The famous lake, which is the subject of many traditional songs, lies in the middle of a pristine mountain landscape.

Gsteig: «A historical village on the Col du Pillon»

The heritage-protected village of Gsteig lies deep in the Saanenland on the Col du Pillon, surrounded by the Diablerets massif and the Sanetsch area. The church and the Hotel Bären beside it are among the most frequently photographed traditional village scenes in Switzerland. 

Rellerli

A remarkable winter paradise awaits on Rellerli mountain above Schönried. While it doesn’t have a cable car, Rellerli does have pristine snow in abundance, making it a wonderful place for unforgettable ski tours and winter hikes. The silence is broken only by the gentle crunching of your footsteps as you stroll through the snowy landscape. This place is a pristine idyll for those who love winter.
