Goals of the challenge

Visit the various mountain restaurants throughout the Gstaad holiday region. Every single hut is worth the effort - check it out!

  • The nine mountain rustic huts are characterised by the integrated alpine farming. This is where the cows spend their summer holidays and cheese is made daily on most of the alps - the gold of the alps and farmers!
  • The two SAC (Swiss Alpine Club) huts offer not only culinary delights but also overnight accommodation.
  • The evening moods are impressive! The seven traditional mountain restaurants stand out with their cosy architecture. They also offer fine regional products!

Our hiking suggestions to the various mountain restaurants

The various hiking suggestions usually allow you to visit two or three mountain huts in one day. There are easy and more challenging tours, short or longer hikes, which can also be combined with the cable cars (Magic Pass is valid). Some include strenuous ascents and others are more high-altitude hikes.

Whichever tour you choose, it's worth starting early in the morning. Have fun!

In the picture on the right, meat products are also displayed on a wooden crate. In the middle is a piece of dried meat, surrounded by various sausage products. All products are labelled as regional products ‘ächt - vo hie’ (from here) with a yellow, round sticker featuring the Gstaad logo and the slogan ‘ächt - vo hie’.
