Slow traffic to slow down

During one overnight stay in the holiday region Gstaad, you will receive the digital guest card, the Gstaad Card. With the guest card, public transport (train & bus) in the holiday region is included. A highlight is certainly the train journey on the GoldenPass Express, the panorama or nostalgic train. Almost everything on offer in the region is easy and uncomplicated to reach by public transport. Or why not try a bike, e-bike or walk?

Our alpine and regional products

The holiday region Gstaad is brimming with regional delicacies and authentic craftsmanship. Tangy cheese, dried beef from Simmental cattle, Saanen mustard made from cherry purée, regional honey and delicate Saanen biscuits all reflect the flavours of our homeland. Even the milk from the Saane goats is used to make not only cheese but also wonderfully fragrant soaps.

But regional character is also evident in the crafts: in delicate paper cut-outs as well as in the local timber used in our chalets. These are products with deep roots in the region that bring a little piece of Gstaad into your home.

Because: Local is brilliant!

Workshops on various sustainabilty topics for families and groups

Raising awareness and providing in-depth information on the topic of «sustainabilty» across deh three areas of society, the economy and the environment play a crucial role here.

All hotels in the Swiss sustainability programme Swisstainable

The Swiss Tourism Federation’s Swisstainable programme is designed to help visitors identify those who are already taking concrete steps to promote greater sustainability in tourism. This development programme views sustainable travel not as a sacrifice, but as a more conscious and enjoyable way to travel.
These accommodation providers are classified under Swisstainable as Level I (committed), Level II (engaged) or Level III (leading). They are constantly improving in the three areas of ecology, economy and society – in keeping with the motto A more sustainable Gstaad.
Since 2026, the Gstaad holiday region and Gstaad Saanenland Tourism have been certified as organisations in accordance with the internationally recognised TourCert standard and classified as a Swisstainable Destination Level III – leading. This external certification and the Swisstainable classification confirm that sustainability is firmly embedded in our tourism strategy and is being systematically developed further. We do not view sustainability as a static state, but as a commitment to continue along the path we have chosen in a transparent, verifiable and collaborative manner.
Together, we can achieve more!
