From Schönried train station, follow Schlittmoosstrasse and the signpost "Fondue Caquelon Schlittmoos". After about 15 minutes on foot you will reach the giant Fondue Caquelon. It offers space for up to eight people and cannot be reserved.

Return route: You can hike back the same way to Schönried or extend your hike towards Saanenmöser, where you can return to Schönried by public transport or on foot via the panorama trail.

Access by bike or mountain bike is possible.

Direct car access to the giant Fondue Caquelon is not possible.

  • Approach

    The holiday region Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, directly on the border with the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun Lake region, the Lake Geneva area and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and to all international airports of Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant journey. The main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous postbus lines.

    The fondue backpack contains all the ingredients for the irresistible outdoor experience: optionally creamy classic or aromatic truffle fondue, crispy fondue bread, spices, a caquelon, a spirit burner with fuel paste, plates and forks.

  • Extend the hike towards Gstaad or Saanenmöser and enjoy the intact nature of the holiday region.
