From Gstaad train station through the pedestrian zone to the railway overpass and further through it to the Louwibach bridge. Now cross the valley floor westwards and climb uphill beyond the Saane. Along a small brook, through forest and over meadows you quickly gain height. The last 100 vertical meters to Haldisbärgli (Eggli station) are overcome directly in the fall line next to the gondola lift operating only in winter. A magnificent panoramic view compensates for the effort of the steep climb. The views are diverse on the high path along the ridge between Chalberhöni and Meielsgrund. At the huts of Vorders and Hinders Eggli one passes and climbs into the flank of the wooded Muttehubel. Now the path descends into the hollow before the alpine hut Wilde Bode (those who want to do this Via Alpina hike do not go back to Meilsgrund - Gstaad), a saddle in the ridge between Eggli and Gummfluh.

  • Approach

The holiday region Gstaad lies in the southwest of Switzerland directly on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun lake region, the Geneva lake area and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and to all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant arrival. The main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" railway (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous post bus lines.

On the page Arrival and public transport on gstaad.ch you will find detailed arrival information.
