W23 Saanen - Gruben - Saanen

The hike starts in the village of Saanen and first leads through the promenade. At the end of the promenade, at the roundabout, cross the main road and follow Spitalstrasse. At the end of the street, there is a short hiking trail to Farbstrasse. Turn left here and shortly afterwards cross the small bridge and follow the hiking trail along the forest to the next junction. At the junction, turn right towards Gstaad and via Löchlistrasse to Grubenstrasse. Cross Grubenstrasse and follow Cheserystrasse until you reach Berschelstrasse. Then follow Berschelstrasse to the next curve. At the curve, take the hiking trail and shortly afterwards turn right, until you reach Cheserystrasse again. Follow this towards Gstaad to the point Nüweret. Take the hiking trail on the right along the Hotel The Alpina and via Hindere Büel and Ebnit down to the main road. Follow the main road about 200 meters towards Saanen, then cross the street and via Bellerivestrasse along the Saane and the river back to Saanen.

  • Approach

    The holiday region Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, right on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is conveniently accessible by train or car from the Thun lake region, the Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant arrival. The main means of transportation in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous postal bus lines.
