From the car park follow the idyllic Louibach. At the branch-off take the right-hand path towards the lake. The unique circular trail around the lake begins below the restaurant Lauenensee. A permanent view of the lake is to enjoy along the entire walk. Doable with a good baby buggy.

  • Approach

    The holiday region Gstaad is located in the south-west of Switzerland right on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessed by rail or car from the regions around Lake Thun and Lake Geneva and the Gruyere region Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant journey. The main means of transport in the region Gstaad are the "MOB" (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) train and numerous post bus lines.

  • Lauenen, Lauenensee (No Bus in Winter)

    During the vacation season and on weekends, high passenger traffic must be expected. Groups of 10 or more are therefore requested to make a reservation. (www.postauto.ch)
    As of the first night, free use of the public transport in the holiday region Gstaad as well as in the Lenk-Simmental region with the Gstaad Card. You can find more information about the Gstaad Card at: www.gstaad.ch/gstaadcard
  • Recommendation for the journey to Lake Lauenen:
    On foot, by post bus or by bicycle from the village of Lauenen
    By car: Parking with limited capacity. Once the car park is full, the road will be closed.
    Tariffs parking:
    up to 6 hours: CHF 15.00
    up to 1 day (24h): CHF 25.00
    Each additional day: CHF 7.00
