The route follows the hiking trail along the Louwibach from Gstaad to Lauenen and from there via Fang and Hintersee up to Lauenensee. On the hiking trail you can ride along the beautiful lake and continue up to the parking lot. There, after the bridge over the Gältebach, turn left into the trail to Rossfalleschlucht/Rohr-Öy. Once there, push the bike over the bridge and ride through Rohr out to Lauenen. At Alpenland, turn left and immediately right again and from Chüngi follow all the trails along the creek back to Gstaad.

  • Approach

    The holiday region of Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland directly on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun lake region, the Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and to all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant arrival.

  • Narrow trail section at Rossfalleschlucht. Dismount recommended. This route is not signposted on the terrain. Use GPS.

    Around the lake, expect large numbers of hikers and walkers on Sundays and public holidays.

  • Mountain bike, weather-appropriate clothing and equipment, repair kit and first aid kit.

  • Plan a break at Lauenensee (fireplace, bathing, or restaurant).
