Open-Air Fire Ban
Effective immediately, a ban on fires and fireworks is in place throughout the Canton of Bern, including all outdoor and residential areas. Prohibited are all outdoor fires, the use of fire pits and fireplaces, the launching of fireworks, bonfires and sky lanterns, as well as, among other activities, preparing fondue or raclette outdoors using gas or camping stoves. This ban also applies to the National Day celebrations on 1 August 2026.
