  • Approach

The holiday region Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, directly on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Thun lake area, the Geneva lake area, and the Greyerzerland. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and to all international airports of Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and comfortable arrival. Main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous PostBus lines.

On the page Arrival and Public Transport on gstaad.ch you will find detailed arrival information.

  • By bus or train to Zweisimmen station.

Then by hiking taxi to Meienberg. The hiking taxi only runs in the season (June - October) and only twice a week (Tuesday & Thursday) by reservation at the Zweisimmen tourism info point (+41 33 722 11 33, zweisimmen@mob.ch).

    Uphill trip: 9.00 a.m.
    Downhill trip: 3.30 p.m.

  • Meienberg parking lot

On route 11 from Spiez or Château d'Oey to Zweisimmen. Take the partly unpaved private road to Grubenwald to Meienberg. From Grubenwald, "Hofstette" is signposted. In Hofstette there is a ticket machine where a permit including parking ticket can be purchased. You stay on the road for about 15 minutes and after about 500 m reach a gate where a small number of parking spaces are located.

Due to the limited number of parking spaces, we recommend parking at the station in Zweisimmen and then taking the hiking taxi to Meienberg. The hiking taxi runs during the season twice a week by reservation at the Zweisimmen tourism info point (+41 33 722 11 33, zweisimmen@mob.ch).

  • Meienberg - Seebergsee - Stierenberg - Zweisimmen

  • Good shoes, snacks for the way – why not a fondue backpack?
