From Gstaad, follow the bike path via Gruben to Schönried. At the main road, turn left and then immediately right towards the Rellerli gondola. Past the valley station, ascend on the paved side road to Bergmatte, and from there it goes steeply down to Saanenmöser. The route back to Schönried and further to Saanen includes another lively descent. In Gstaad, the ride continues via Gmünte towards Lauenen. The little road rises steeply shortly after Gstaad but then levels out. At the Gmünte bridge, you briefly reach the main road but turn off again at Enge. Before Lauenen, you face the Mur de Lauenen, a short but up to 20% steep climb up to the village center. From Lauenen, follow the main road back to Gstaad and then the bike path along towards Gsteig. After Feutersoey, there is a short climb up to Saali with its flat moor meadows and old farmhouses, then down into picturesque Gsteig. Back to Gstaad, the route always gently descends at a good pace on the main road.
