This mountain route passes the Gastlosen located south of Jaun, at an altitude between 1500 and 1900 meters. On the circular hike around the Gastlosen, hikers can discover the plant life and the unique geological richness of this region and immerse themselves in the special atmosphere and mood of the route. The starting point is Abländschen. From the old schoolhouse, near the Chappelematte, you climb up to the actual circular route and head towards Chalet Grat. After the chalet, you continue into the lush Mattewald and then reach the chairlift that drives up here from Jaun. The path continues in the direction of the Soldatenhaus, initially passing above gentle pastures and barren forests before reaching a landscape of abrupt limestone cliffs, some as high as 300 m. Then you discover the Stillwasserwald and its highly varied vegetation. After a rocky section at Wolf's Ort at 1,921 m, you reach this highest point of the hike and cross from the north back to the south side. On the south slope, there is a magnificent panoramic view of the Bernese Alps and the Valais 4000-meter peaks. From there, you cross green alpine meadows again until you reach the junction leading back to the village of Abländschen.
