Leander's dark voice and hits like "Yes Sir" or "Nur nicht aus Liebe weinen" still enchant audiences today. However, there is a cruel downside to all of this. Leander's boundless ambition turns her into an unscrupulous opportunist. For the sake of success, she allows herself to be harnessed to the propaganda cart of the German Nazi regime and sacrifices love and family for it.
