Skijöring Gstaad

Skijoring is a winter sport in which a skier is pulled on a rope by a mounted or unmounted horse. This discipline is also carried out competitively as a race. The winter sport of skijoring originally comes from the Nordic countries of Sweden and Norway.

The starts are single in order to reduce the risk of accidents. In skijoring, the horse is equipped with a light harness. This includes a device where the skier can hold on behind the horse. Horses used for skijoring must be completely obedient to commands in order to be able to cope with critical situations.
