Recital Daniil Trifonov
19.07.2022 , Tuesday
His talent and technique are so phenomenal that one could almost imagine him “exploding into supersonic flight”. Daniil Trifonov is still flying and his programmes never stop to amaze. Following his debut at the festival in 2015 with Rachmaninov’s Fourth Concerto and his “Chopin Variations” in 2018, he is returning to Saanen with a new event recital. On the programme: Szymanowski's Sonata No. 3 (which, on the eve of the Russian Revolution, closes his Impressionist period), Debussy's “Pour le piano” (a manifesto work drawing on the sources of the great masters of the 18th century and thus turning the page on Franck and the post-Romantic influence) and the Sonata No. 3 by the young Brahms, considered by his mentor Robert Schumann to be a “symphony in disguise”.
