If the first altitude meters are too strenuous for you, you can use the gondola from Gstaad to Wispile (observe operating times & prices). At the mountain restaurant Wispile you have the opportunity to stop for a break and enjoy the great view. Now follow the ridge of the mountain and enjoy the panoramic view over the Saanenland. At Chrinetritt the path steeply descends to the Chrinepass (1659 m). Once there, you immediately climb about 100 meters in altitude again. This leads you onto the path towards Lauenensee (1381 m). On the descending mountain path you reach the nature reserve of Lauenensee. Here you can take the post bus back to Gstaad or continue running to Lauenen village (1241 m, approx. 4 km) and take the post bus there.
Notes: Shortcuts of the route are possible: gondola Gstaad-Wispile or vice versa (please observe the operating times of the mountain railways). Lengthening of the route possible: Lauenen-Gstaad or vice versa. From or to Lauenen please observe the bus timetable. The route is not continuously marked. Follow the signposts towards Lauenensee/Lauenen.
