S2 Lochstafel Trail: Saanenmöser - Chübelialp - Lochstafel - Saanenmöser

Snowshoeing
GPX
  • Difficulty moderate
  • Duration 2:45 h
  • Distance 7,4 km
  • 324 m
  • 326 m

From Saanenmöser station, head up towards Hornberg to the Saanenwald Lodge. After crossing the ski slope, continue over a small bridge past the golf clubhouse. After about 2 km over the golf course, go right up to Chübelialp. Here you have nearly reached the maximum height, and the snow-covered alpine road leads moderately to Lochstafel. At the mountain restaurant Lochstafel, you can take a break and enjoy the sun on the terrace with refreshments in good weather. From Lochstafel, it is only downhill parallel to the toboggan run back to Saanenmöser.

The marked snowshoe route follows an easier trail parallel to the winter hiking path.

    • The route of this snowshoe trail is signposted, but not specially prepared. However, it mostly runs parallel to the winter hiking trail.
    • For route selection as well as assessment of your own experience, performance ability, and alpine hazards during ascents and descents in the alpine terrain, everyone is responsible for themselves.
    • Plan every snowshoe tour carefully and adjust it to your own conditions as well as to the weather and the season.
    • The weather in the mountains can change quickly. Therefore, bring suitable clothing and enough provisions and water. Turn back in time if the weather is uncertain.
    • Inform others about the route and if possible never go alone.
    • Be considerate of other hikers as well as plants and animals.
  • A snowshoe route to Lochstafel is especially worthwhile as part of the "Zauberweg"
