70th Menuhin Festival Gstaad

16.07.2026 - 05.09.2026

For its 70th anniversary, the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, under the artistic direction of Daniel Hope, will become the meeting point of the international classical music scene. Under the motto "Family Matters," the season brings together great artistic personalities, outstanding orchestras, and the stars of tomorrow for a unique festival experience in the Saanenland.

Highlights include the residency of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under Vasily Petrenko with Thomas Hampson and Behzod Abduraimov, the guest performance of the Budapest Festival Orchestra under Iván Fischer, as well as the Royal Danish Orchestra with Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider and Marie Jacquot. Opera lovers can look forward to Puccini's "La Bohème" featuring Benjamin Bernheim.

Other highlights include concerts with Khatia Buniatishvili, Pinchas Zukerman, Julia Lezhneva, Regula Mühlemann, Sir András Schiff, Gabriela Montero, Daniil Trifonov, and rising star Hayato Sumino.

With the return of the popular Mountain Spirit concerts on Gstaad's local mountain Eggli, the festival presents genre-crossing formats that combine music, panoramic views, and culinary experiences into a special alpine concert experience.

Family-friendly concerts run throughout the entire festival program, many of them with free or highly reduced admission – including the highlight "Peter and the Wolf" in the festival tent with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

New in 2026, the festival expands its profile: With The Summit, an interdisciplinary forum for culture, economy, and society emerges, the film series in the Ciné-Theatre Gstaad opens new perspectives on music and its stories, and the President’s Hikes uniquely combine nature experiences and musical encounters.

Over 75 concerts in the historic churches of Saanen, Zweisimmen, Lauenen, Gsteig, and Rougemont, as well as in the festival tent Gstaad, make the summer a special experience – characterized by musical excellence, unique atmosphere, and the combination of music and alpine landscape.
