Lindner will become head gastronome of Bergbahnen Destination Gstaad AG and will be cooking in the new mountain restaurant Eggli starting in the upcoming winter season. Lindner is one of the leading restaurateurs in Switzerland. Thanks to his creations, Restaurant Mesa in Zurich became number 1 in the city. He has also attracted attention on several occasions in Gstaad: In Alpina Gstaad he has earned one Michelin star, as well as 18 Gault Millau points, and managed the restaurants Chesery and Park Hotel.

Saanenmöser - Chübelialp - Lochstafel - Saanenmöser
The winter hiking trail leads not far from the ski slopes below the Saanerslochgrat middle station up to the Chübelialp restaurant. The trail continues to the Lochstafel and back below the ski slopes, past the Saanerslochgrat middle station, to Saanenmöser.
Schönried - Gruben - Gstaad
This continual downhill run from Schönried to Gstaad and varied hike for enthusiastic hikers boasts views of towering mountain peaks and the historic heart of the Saanenland. Schönried (1,230 metres above sea level), a sunny mountain terrace in the region of Gstaad, is the starting point for this winter hike that takes you towards Gstaad itself. Restaurants closed from 22.12.2020 until 28.02.2021
On Friday afternoon, 18 December 2020, and Wednesday afternoon, 13 January 2021, the Federal Council decided that restaurant businesses will be closed from 22 December 2020 until 28 February 2021. Only company and school canteens and restaurants for hotel guests may remain open. Take-aways and delivery services also remain permitted. Bakeries are allowed to offer their entire range of products on Sundays under certain conditions.

Since last winter, guests have been coming to Gstaad’s local mountain, Eggli, very comfortably and in style. The new cable car captivates people with its unusual design. Now guests can look forward even more, as the new mountain top restaurant will open in December. The hosts would like that their guests are able to relax and enjoy the culinary delights. The large terrace invites guests to marvel at the view of the surrounding mountains, especially on sunny days.
“The peak of pleasure” – as per the Wasserngrat website. That’s not promising too much. The terrace offers a nice view onto the surrounding mountains and the ski area is considered exclusive. It’s not large, but the slopes are challenging. Good skiers love the black run "Tiger Run". Buying tickets early is worth it for everyone! Thanks to the flexible prices, no one has to wait in line any longer and the tickets are often even cheaper. In comparison to the previous fixed price of CHF 65, a day ticket now costs up to 25% less and a maximum of 19% more in the future. The prices are based on, for example, when the ticket is booked and on what days it is valid.
In case the authorities state that all mountain railways in the Gstaad tariff association must be closed at some point during the winter season 2020/21, holders of one-day and multi-day tickets will receive a credit for the days of skiing that could not be taken during the closure. This credit can be redeemed online until the end of the winter season 2021/22 from Bergbahnen Destination Gstaad AG. Ticket holders can re-book online via www.gstaad.ch/skitickets.
Together with the Swiss partner Climeworks, the mountain railways of the destination Gstaad is decreasing the difficult to avoid emissions resulting from skiing activities. Winter sports enthusiasts can drop off their KeyCard in one of the boxes at the valley station at the end of the day. For each CHF 5 deposit, Climeworks removes 5kg of CO2 from the air. This is done using a special technology called Direct Air Capture.
