Hiking for Families
Hiking with children can be great fun especially if there are lots of things for children to discover and experience along the way. And that's where the Destination Gstaad comes into its own.
An attractive family hiking region
- A wide range of well-signposted, safe hiking routes ideal for hiking with families.
- A number of campfire sites with BBQ facilities, benches, tables and firewood
- Several mountain lakes to swim in and mountain streams to dam
- Alpine hut experiences, such as cheese-making or sleeping on hay bales
- Parents in possession of a half-tax subscription (50% rail discount) pay half-price (with the exception of the Wasserngrat, Sanetsch and La Braye)
- Free accommodation for children up to the age of 9 in shared rooms with their parents
Adventure and alpine diversity for families
With the summer stagings on the Wispile as well as on the Rinderberg, the destination created new highlights – and this time the focus is on our younger visitors and on families. The new playgrounds, adjacent to the comfortable mountain restaurants, are perfect places for discovery, play and relaxation. Further extensions are planned which will see the creation of adventure areas for young and old.
A pump track is a specially created track consisting of waves and banked curves. Without pedaling, the cyclist uses a pumping motion of the body in order to gain and maintain speed. Although the facility is suitable for experienced bikers, children and anyone else wanting to try out something different are sure to have an enjoyable time too.
Every village in the Destination Gstaad has its own children's playgrounds. The facilities range from a simple play park with swings and slides to a complete adventure playground.
