Varied mountainbike tour over Hornberg up to the Rüwlispass. On an medium singletrail to St. Stephan and on sideroads and gravelroads via Zweisimmen, Saanenmöser back to Gstaad.

From the Gstaad train station the route starts on Oberbortstrasse, past the beautiful Gstaaderchalets, along the hiking trail to "Cheserystrasse" and up the right via "Berschelstrasse". The tour continues along Hornbergstrasse up to the Hornberg and the "Parwengenweg" to "Undere Zwitzeregg" up to the "Rüwlispass". The first descent starts on the hiking trail over the "Reulissentrasse" after about 2 km turn left onto the single trail which leads to St. Stephan. From there the route follows the mountain bike trail No. 1 to Zweisimmen and branches off to the left onto the bicycle trail No. 9 via the side road up to the village of Saanenmöser and further on the hiking trail to Schönried. The second descent of the tour starts in Schönried along the Grubenstrasse and leads back to Gstaad.

 

From there the scenic descent leads over the hiking trail to the "Zwitzereggstrasse" then "Parwengeweg" to the Hornberg and further over the steep "Gfellweg", "Stutzweg" then left down on the "Berschelstrasse". At the end of the "Berschelstrasse" the tour turns left into the "Cheserystrasse" and then over the hiking trail to the Oberbortstrasse past the beautiful Gstaaderchalets and back to Gstaad.

Tip of the author
The bistrots in the village of Zweisimmen or St. Stephan invite you to take a coffee break. A pick nick on the "Rüwlispass" is worth it.
