On foot through the golden season

Colorful leaves under your feet, the clear mountain air in your hair and a beautiful panorama all around you – during a leisurely hike you can really enjoy the Indian summer.

Slowly the temperatures are getting cooler, the air is clear and dry – and the view razor sharp. Perfect conditions for hiking. Whether walking on panoramic routes with spectacular views, passing by bubbling waterfalls or stopping in at charming alpine pubs – hikers will find exactly the right thing in the destination Gstaad.

Experience and enjoy nature

One of our favorite hiking trails in late summer? The three-lake-hike to Lake Arnen. From Col du Pillon – here we get off the Postauto – we take a small natural road to Lake Retaud. Those who are looking for the first refreshment can stop at the restaurant directly on the lake and enjoy the autumn sun on the terrace. From there the hiking trail goes through the pine forest and passes by the countless blueberry bushes (who knows, maybe there is still a sweet berry left over?) and over the Col de Voré into Tschärzi Valley. And there the second lake appears before us, better said the idyllic little lake. Now the descent to Alp Seeberg begins and continues on to Lake Arnen. Already from afar, you can enjoy the view onto the mirror-smooth water surface and reflection of the – maybe even already sugar-coated – mountain peaks.

We sit down on the shores of the lake, let our tired feet dangle in the cooling water and listen to the wind rushing gently through the treetops. And at the end of the day, we let ourselves be spoilt with culinary delights at Huus am Arnensee. The house specialty: a fresh trout – or now in autumn a delicious game dish with Spätzli, chestnuts and red cabbage. Oh how beautiful the golden season is!
