Varied Event Summer in Gstaad
Gstaad alive! Big Time
From July 3rd to mid-September Gstaad alive! on the ice rink premises in Gstaad offers a great atmosphere and comfortable social distancing. A colorful musical program and a bike workshop are just a few of the many events on the program. Further attractions include an over-sized sandbox, a funny photo contest and the bar feeling amidst the wonderful mountains.
Hiking experiences for the whole family
On July 4th and 26th, as well as on August 22nd, visitors along the Cheese Trail on the Wispile will discover during the family experience days stories around this local specialty and immerse themselves into the world of the dairy farmers. Actors will accompany interested visitors on the trail and provide them with extra information about the Gstaad cheeses.
“Musique et Nature”
At the end of August, the Gstaad Menuhin Festival is introducing two musical hikes, which will allow enduring music lovers to enjoy chamber music in the midst of nature, performed by members of the Gstaad Festival Orchestra. The ensembles of the Gstaad Festival Orchestra (including the Gstaad Festival Brass) will also be present, offering pop-up concerts at various venues during the high summer season, according to a schedule to be drawn up at short notice.
A Ray of Hope for Sporting Events
A highlight in the event calendar for all passionate runners is the Rougemont Videmanette Run on July 12th. With a limited number of 200 participants (already fully booked) and the strict adherence to protective measures, nothing stands in the way of this run.
Cultural Diversity at the Open Air Cinema and Ländlerfest
The first open air cinema is taking place this year in the idyllic village of Lauenen on the terrace by the Hotel Alpenland. Movies from difference genres compete with the magical mountain panorama, a piece of Hollywood in the middle of nature's tranquillity. Just before, Zweisimmen is presenting his traditional Openair cinema at the Simmental Arena.
Tradition and folk music come together during the Ländlerfest Gstaad on July 4th. Well-known Swiss bands and groups will be playing traditional pieces on the promenade. In addition to the entertainment value, the main objective of the event is to preserve, promote and care for this valuable part of the Swiss culture.
