Marleen Fässler, trainee at Switzerland Tourism in Brussels:

Marleen Fässler has completed a one-year placement at Gstaad Saanenland Tourism and is now attending the tourism school in Sierre. During this time, she has learned a great deal about the unique aspects and diversity of the holiday region of Gstaad. The landscape can be explained particularly well by telling the legend of the hand of God.

‘This charming legend says that God wanted to relax for a while during creation. So his handprint formed the Saanenland: the five fingers shaped the valleys and Gstaad spreads out in the centre. From the Unterbort – opposite the village of Saanen – you can really see this ‘hand of God’ and understand how it was created.’
