Franziska Ueltschi advises passengers on the GoldenPass Line in Schönried Railway Station. However, her duties also include making tourists aware of the region’s attractions. Apart from the tip below, she has many other good ones up her sleeve:
"The hiking tour on the tracks of the Glacier 3000 Run is an insider tip for people seeking some peace and quiet, nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and romantics and botanists who also like to take it easy sometimes. Between Reusch and Cabane, you can be at one with nature and get away from it all. From the Reusch car park, there is a steady climb up the track – accompanied by birdsong and the rushing waterfall nearby. The climb is pleasant in the morning, as it is still in the shade then. After a good hour you reach Oldenegg, which is above the tree line. It continues through the marmot paradise Martinstäli, which is transformed into a beautiful Alpine garden in June and July. From the middle station of the Glacier 3000, Cabane, you can travel back down to the valley or up to the Col du Pillon in comfort on the cable car."
