Gstaad is kind to the family budget. Children up to 9 years are entitled to free travel on all the region's mountain railways and cable cars. In many hotels, their accommodation is free and some sport shops have special offer for children up to 9 years. This attractive offer is unique anywhere in the Bernese Oberland.

The offer is valid in winter 2012/13 for children up to 9 years (year of birth 2004 or later).

Mountain railways and cable-car offer
In the region of Gstaad Mountain Rides, between Zweisimmen and Glacier 3000, children up to 9 years enjoy skiing for free. Example: In the popular ski area of Saanenmöser, Hornberg / Saanersloch and Rinderberg above Zweisimmen, a couple and their children up to 9 years pay CHF 124.00 (EUR 103.00*) for one day up the mountain. The same family enjoys 5 days skiing for CHF 560.00 (EUR 465.00*). Even if the children wish to go sledding or walking down the mountain, they don’t have to pay for the cable car ride. In addition to that, they’ve a free access to the children’s paradise. All they need is a free ski pass, which they can get at the cable car stations. The children’s paradise is not supervised and the parents do have the full responsibility of their children.

Hotel offer
In many hotels in the holiday region, the accommodation is free for children up to 9 years if they sleep in their parents's room. Some hotels even have special terms for children up to the age of 12 or even 16.
