As a ski instructor with years of experience, Beatrice Brand from Gstaad knows the Gstaad Mountain Rides region like the back of her hand. In her opinion the "Kuhstahl" (literally "cowshed") pub/restaurant offers three advantages of equal merit.

"This establishment really was a cowshed which is now converted into a little pub/restaurant in the winter. While guests enjoy a homely après-ski here, the cows have been moved to another building down in the village. Parents can sit in comfort on the terrace and watch their children's progress as they learn to ski. And this is the last opportunity to stop off at a restaurant before the valley station."
