Dr. med. Rolf Steiger, of Gstaad, voluntarily preserves and looks after the spiritual legacy of the great Lord Yehudi Menuhin (1916 – 1999) in the Menuhin Center Saanen. The municipality of Saanen made the brilliant musician, philosopher and philanthropist an honorary citizen in 1970.

‘In the historic Salzhaus chalet, on the 1^st floor of the Saanen Tourist Information Centre, the great artistic and spiritual legacy of the internationally revered musician, teacher, humanist and founder and mentor of the Menuhin Festival is preserved. The cosy rooms are an inviting place for a creative encounter with the person, his family and his work in Gstaad since 1954. Numerous original documents grant a lively insight into the life of the great artist. The Menuhin Center is open on Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. or on request at
