Winter hors-riding

Fans of equestrianism love the Saanenland as it offers lots of opportunities for guided hacks through the unspoilt landscape or horse-riding lessons in indoor paddocks, whether it's classic, English or Western style.

Horse riding opportunities in winter
From the Gstaad Equestrian Centre, a beautiful signposted winter bridle path takes you in the direction of Gruben/Saali. Between Gstaad and Grund, the carriage path is also open to horse riders. Riders unfamiliar with the area should first contact the persons listed below to find out about the different horse riding trails or only ride with others.

Rules for using the winter horse riding trails

The trails cross other people’s property and riders should behave accordingly.
The blue signs with a white horse may be followed, but winter walking tracks may not be ridden on.
Depending on the weather and to protect the fields, the winter horse riding trail may be closed. In this case, the horse riding ban signs at the entry points must be adhered to.
